The forest resources demand is growing recently, propelled by the increasing global population. Serious damages to the ecological environment result from the excessive deforestation.The development of sustainable alternative resources is a new strategy to solve this problem.Bamboo has attracted more and more attention with the traits of fast growth, strong reproductive capacity and environmental friendliness. Promoting the integrated utilization of bamboo resources and realizing “bamboo surpassing wood” are the critical ways todevelop bamboo resources.
